The hard Lefschetz theorem in complex geometry has led to the notion of the Lefschetz properties in algebra. Such a connection was perhaps first studied by \textit{R. P. Stanley} [see for instance: Proc. Int. Congr. Math., Warszawa 1983, Vol. 1, 447-453 (1984; Zbl 0606.14019)]. Stanley's idea was to view a monomial complete intersection as the cohomology ring of a suitable variety, and so draw conclusions about this complete intersection. This notion has extended far beyond the complex geometry setting to the setting of graded Artinian algebras. In this paper, though, the author applies the hard Lefschetz theorem to flag varieties, where the cohomology ring is isomorphic to the coinvariant algebra of the corresponding Weyl group \(W\). She gives characterizations of the strong Lefschetz elements for an arbitrary complex reflection group \(G\) which contains a finite subgroup of \(\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb C)\) as a subgroup of index 2. She also characterizes the weak Lefschetz elements for the complex reflection groups, a dihedral group and \(G(2n,n,2)\), which contain a cyclic group and a binary dihedral group, respectively. Finally, she examines the relation between the set of non-strong Lefschetz elements and polyhedra.
