The present paper deals with the compact transformation problem for the groups \(G=\mathbb{Z}_p\), and \(G=S^{d}\), for \(d=1,3\). Precisely, considering actions of this groups on a finite CW-complex \(X\) having mod \(p\) cohomology isomorphic to a wedge of spheres \(S^{n}\vee S^{m}\vee S^{l}\), \(1\leq n\leq m\leq l\), the authors provide all possibilities for the cohomology ring of the fixed point set \(F\). Furthermore, some examples are constructed that realize such structures. When the action is free, then all possibilities for the cohomology of the orbit space \(X/G\) are presented, and two Borsuk-Ulam type results are also made, regarding the existence of equivariant maps. In both cases, the main tool used to conclude the results is the Leray-Serre spectral sequence, associated with the corresponding Borel construction.
