The purpose of this interesting article is to set up a numerical analysis scheme for the one-dimensional Dirac wave equation. First it is shown that for a unit Courant number, i.e. for particles with speed close to \(c\), this scheme preserves the \(L^2\) norm. For asymptotic-preserving schemes, forward-Euler formulas with certain properties are found for the scattering matrix. Finally, test-cases for linear and nonlinear problems are computed and shown in diagrams.
