The purpose of the authors is to furnish the expression of the fractional Laplacian operator \((-\Delta)^s\) on some non-compact manifolds. Subsequently, the second section focuses on giving the integral expression of \((-\Delta)^s\) on \(\mathbb H^n\), the \(n\)-dimensional hyperbolic space (Theorem 2.5). The proof of this latter theorem is essentially based on the asymptotic behaviour of an explicit singular kernel (Theorem 2.4). The third section deals with the case of the expression of the fractional Laplacian operator on alternative non-compact manifolds \(\mathcal{M}\). The expression is principally based on the assessment of the heat kernel associated to \(\mathcal{M}\). Accordingly, the authors consider the following four respective cases: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(\mathcal{M}\) is a symmetric space, \item[(2)] \(\mathcal{M}\) is the quotient space of \(\mathbb{H}^n\) by a geometrically finite discrete group of isometries of \(\mathbb H^n\), \item[(3)] \(\mathcal{M}\) is a smooth manifold endowed with an almost explicit metric, \item[(4)] \(\mathcal{M}\) is a manifold with end, i.e., comprised by the Cartesian product of another manifold times the positive real line. \end{itemize}} At the end of the article, the authors presume the construction of \((-\Delta)^s\) on the metric graph.
