The main aims of the paper are to present some results on the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solutions of (very general) partial functional differential equations with delay. The basic assumptions are Hille-Yosida condition and almost periodicity for the delayed parts of the equation under consideration. The basic idea of the proof on the existence (and uniqueness) of ``integral solutions'' of the differential equation is the Banach contraction principle for the contraction operator in a suitable Banach space. It suggests to consider more general fixed point theorems to get, may be, better results. This theoretical result is applied to get the unique bounded and almost periodic solution to a reaction diffusion equation. In the paper there are also presented some preliminary results used to get the main results.
