Let \(\mathbb H\) denote the quaternions, and let \((q_1, \dots, q_n, p)\) be the standard coordinates of the flat quaternion space \(\mathbb H^{n+1}\). This article studies connected quaternionic contact hypersurfaces \(M\) of \(\mathbb H^{n+1}\). It shows that, up to quaternionic affine transformations, \(M\) is contained in one of the following three hyperquadrics: \[ \begin{aligned} & |q_1|^2 +\dots + |q_n|^2 + |p|^2 = 1 ,\\ & |q_1|^2 +\dots + |q_n|^2 - |p|^2 = -1 ,\\ & |q_1|^2 +\dots + |q_n|^2 + \text{Re}(p) = 0 . \end{aligned} \] It also shows that if \(M\) is a quaternionic contact manifold embedded as a hypersurface in a hyper-Kähler manifold, then \(M\) is conformal to an Einstein space in the quaternionic contact setting.
