The Hall algebra \(\mathcal{H}(A)\) of a finite dimensional algebra \(A\) over a finite field was introduced by \textit{C. M. Ringel} [Invent. Math. 101, No. 3, 583--591 (1990; Zbl 0735.16009)]. This algebra is a free abelian group with basis the isoclasses of finite dimensional \(A\)-modules, and the structure constants are given by the Hall numbers. When the algebra \(A\) is representation finite and hereditary, Ringel showed that the Hall numbers of A are polynomials in the cardinalities of finite fields. These polynomials are called Hall polynomials. The existence of Hall polynomials in the category of finite dimensional nilpotent representations for a cyclic quiver was also proved by Ringel. \textit{A. Hubery} [Represent. Theory 14, 355--378 (2010; Zbl 1241.16011)] proved that Hall polynomials exist for all tame quivers with respect to the decomposition classes of \textit{K. Bongartz} and \textit{D. Dudek} [J. Algebra 240, No. 1, 268--288 (2001; Zbl 1036.16011)]. Hubery's result was generalized by \textit{B. Deng} and \textit{S. Ruan} [J. Algebra 475, 171--206 (2017; Zbl 1423.16012)]. They proved that Hall polynomials exist for domestic weighted projective lines with respect to the decomposition sequences. As an application, they obtained the existence of Hall polynomials for tame quivers. The derived Hall algebra was introduced by \textit{B. Toën} [Duke Math. J. 135, No. 3, 587--615 (2006; Zbl 1117.18011)] for a differential graded category satisfying some finiteness conditions, where the structure constants are given by the so-called derived Hall numbers. Later on, \textit{J. Xiao} and \textit{F. Xu} [Duke Math. J. 143, No. 2, 357--373 (2008; Zbl 1168.18006)] investigated the derived Hall algebra for an arbitrary triangulated category under certain finiteness conditions. In this paper, the authors study the derived Hall algebra for the bounded derived category of the finite dimensional nilpotent representations of a Dynkin or tame quiver over a finite field. They show that for any three given objects \(X,Y\) and \(L\) in this bounded derived category, there exists a rational function \(\varphi^L_{XY}\in\mathbb{Q}(T)\) such that for each conservative field extension \(E\) of \(k\), \[\varphi^L_{XY}(|E|)=F^{L^{E}}_{X^{E}Y^{E}}\] where \(F^{L^{E}}_{X^{E}Y^{E}}\) is the derived Hall numbers.
