The space \(H^{2}_{\alpha,\beta}\) (\(\alpha, \beta\in\mathbb C\), \(\alpha\ne0\), \(|\alpha|^{2}+|\beta|^{2}=1\)) is the subspace of the Hardy space \(H^{2}(\mathbb D)\) on the unit disk in the complex plane which is generated by the orthonormal system \(\alpha+\beta z\), \(z^{2}, z^{3}, \dots,z\in\mathbb D\). For a holomorphic function \(\varphi:\mathbb D\to\mathbb D\), the composition operator \(C_{\varphi}\) on \(H^{2}(\mathbb D)\) is defined by the relation \(C_{\varphi}: f(z)\mapsto f(\varphi(z))\), \(z\in\mathbb D\). The authors obtain conditions when the subspaces \(H^{2}_{\alpha,\beta}\) or \(uH^{2}_{\alpha,\beta}\) for some inner functions \(u\) are invariant for composition operators. They obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for a function to be inner, which are formulated in terms of composition operators and the spaces under consideration. They also investigate some related problems.
