Systems of \(m\geqslant 1\) non-autonomous non-parabolic ordinary differential equations of order \(n+1\geqslant 2\) are considered. Cartan's geometric approach is used. The symmetry gap problem for these ODEs is investigated. The submaximal contact symmetry dimension for these ODEs is determined. Finer curvature-constrained submaximal symmetry dimensions are also classified.
