Let \(f\) be a non-negative function defined on \(\mathbb R_{+}^{n}\) which is monotone in each variable separately. Assuming that \(1<p<\infty ,\) \(g\) and \( \nu \) are non-negative weight functions (\(\nu =\nu _{1}(x_{1})...\nu _{n}(x_{n}))\), equivalent expressions for \[ \sup \int_{\mathbb R_{+}^{n}}fgdx\left/\left( \int_{\mathbb R_{+}^{n}}f^{p}\nu dx\right) ^{1/p}\right. \] are given, where the supremum is taken over all such functions \(f.\) Variants of such duality for sequences are also included. Applications are given to the continuity of the multidimensional Hardy operator on the cone of decreasing functions in each variable.
