Let \(L=\partial \quad n+\sum_{0\leq i\leq n-1}u_ i\partial \quad i\) be a fixed differential operator, \(X=\sum_{1\leq i\leq n}\partial^{-i}x_ i\) be a pseudodifferential symbol, and let a(x), \(u_ i(x)\) and \(x_ i(x)\) be infinite functions on S 1. It is shown in the present paper that the space of periodic solutions of the equations \(L(\phi)=\lambda \phi\), L \(*(\psi)=\lambda \psi\), \(L(XL)_+-(LX)_+L=\lambda [X,L]_+,\) \(a'=0\) can be considered as the stabilizer of some element in the coadjoint representation of the Lie superalgebra \(\hat {\mathcal G}\), where \({\mathcal G}=gl(n| 1)\), \(\tilde {\mathcal G}\) is the corresponding current algebra, \(\hat {\mathcal G}\) is a central extension of \(\tilde {\mathcal G}\). Thus, on solutions of the above four equations, one can introduce the structure of a Lie superalgebra.
