The authors present a mathematical model to describe the flow field of dilute emulsion of drops with large deformations. Each drop is approximated as an ellipsoid, and the flow of Newtonian fluid is locally linear. A good agreement of drop shapes predicted by this approach with exact boundary-integral calculations is demonstrated. The validity of this model is also proved by the comparison with a computation of dilute emulsion of drops with large deformations in a flow past a rigid sphere.
