Let \(Z\) be a discrete subset of the open unit ball \(\mathbb B\subset\mathbb C^2\). The author proves the existence of a complete proper holomorphic embedding \(\varphi:\Delta\rightarrow\mathbb B\) of the open unit disc \(\Delta\) such that \(Z\subset\varphi(\Delta)\). Completeness of \(\varphi(\Delta)\) means that for any path \(\gamma:[0,1)\rightarrow\Delta\) with \(\lim_{t\rightarrow 1}|\gamma(t)|=1\), the path \(\varphi(\gamma(t))\), \(0\leq t<1\), has infinite length. The existence of a proper holomorphic embedding \(\psi:\Delta\rightarrow\mathbb B\) with \(Z\subset\psi(\Delta)\) was proved in 1996 by \textit{F. Forstneric} et al. [Math. Ann. 305, No. 3, 559--569 (1996; Zbl 0859.32010)]. In the present paper the author applies similar methods. He constructs a sequence \((\Phi_n)\) of biholomorphic maps of \(\mathbb C^2\) and a pseudoconvex Runge domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^2\), \(0\in\Omega\), such that the sequence \((\Phi_n)\) converges to a biholomorphic map \(\Phi:\Omega\rightarrow\mathbb B\). For a suitable complex line \(L\), \(0\in L\), the component \(C\) of \(L\cap\Omega\) with \(0\in C\) is bounded and simply connected, and \(\Phi:C\rightarrow\mathbb B\) is a complete proper holomorphic embedding with \(Z\subset\Phi(C)\).
