The authors consider slender two-dimensional wedge-wings, especially the problem involving gradual change in the angle of attack. This wing moving at a high Mach number is subjected to an angle of attack changing with time; this means, the change takes place in a short but finite time. The authors consider the flow on the upper side of the wedge. The lower side will behave similarly with a decreasing angle of attack. With the assumption of small angles of attack and wedge angles the problem reduces to the flow over an inclined flat plate with time-dependent angle of attack. For the same change in angle of attack the flow attains the final steady state much faster in this case as compared to the case when the change is made impulsively. Further, the unsteady character of the flow in the present case is more dominant in the earlier phases of the change only.
