Laplace transformation methods for some heat transfer problems (Q794194)

The authors consider two boundary value problems which result from heat transfer problems in bodies of water: the ''river problem'' of predicting temperatures downstream and at later times, and the ''lake problem'' of predicting vertical temperature profiles in stagnant large bodies of water. In each case, analytic solutions are derived on appealing to the two-dimensional Laplace transformation.
