Betragshalbgruppen normstetiger Operatorhalbgruppen (Q794257)

To norm continuous semigroups \((T(t))_{t\geq 0}\) of order bounded operators on order complete Banach lattices E we associate the 'modulus semigroup' \((\tilde T(t))_{t\geq 0}\) defined as the smallest positive semigroup satisfying \(\pm T(t)\leq \tilde T(t)\) for all \(t\geq 0\). In particular, it is shown that the generator \(\tilde A\) of \((\tilde T(t))_{t\geq 0}\) is obtained from the generator A of (T(t)) as \(\tilde A=M+| B|\) whenever \(A=M+B\) with M in the center Z(E) of E and B in the orthogonal band \(Z(E)^{\perp}\).
