Uniqueness of solutions to some boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations with a nonlinear occurrence of the higher derivative (Q5930612)

The author studies uniqueness and a priori estimates for two-point boundary value problems of first and second order. In the former case systems of the form \(h(t,x,y,x')=0\), \(f(t,x,y,y')=0\) subject to the boundary conditions \(x(a)=A\) and \(x(b)=B\) are examined; in the latter case scalar equations \(F(t,x,x',x'')=0\) with boundary conditions \(\phi(x(a),x'(a))=0\) and \(\psi(x(b),x'(b))=0\).
