The second part [for part I see the foregoing entry] deals with a dumbbell satellite -- a rather simple but important model for tethered satellite systems. Both two- and three-dimensional cases are considered, the reduced energy-momentum method is applied to stability analysis, and some advantages compared to Routh method are demonstrated.
