An elementary approach to exponential spaces (Q5939001)

The authors give a new and fairly elementary proof of the Day-Kelly characterization of exponentiable objects in the category \textbf{Top} of topological spaces, as the core-compact (also called quasi-locally compact) spaces. In fact they show that this characterization is true in every quotient-reflective subcategory \({\mathbf Y}\) of \textbf{Top}: the exponentiable objects in \({\mathbf Y}\) are the core-compact spaces in \({\mathbf Y}\).
