The author studies a nonlinear perturbation problem for von Kármán equation governing steady two-dimensional inviscid transonic channel flows with local supersonic regions, where both acceleration and deceleration can take place. A damping condition is prescribed on a portion of the boundary in order to prevent the occurrence of shock waves. Using the Fredholm alternative technique and some a priori estimates, the author proves existence and uniqueness of a smooth solution to the problem.
