Singularly perturbed problems of second-order often exhibit strong boundary layers. The standard spectral methods, in general, cannot resolve accurately such phenomena. To construct spectral methods with better boundary layer resolution the authors employ coordinate stretching. The proposed transformations of the original unit \(n\)-cube are singular and provide the necessary stretching. Two transformations are considered and studied in detail. They are provent o provide a better accuracy with respect to the small (perturbation) parameter \(\varepsilon\). Two important features of the method are: (1) the transformation does not depend on the small parameter; (2) very good accuracy could be achieved with several hundred spectral functions.
