Solving disturbance decoupling problems via geometric notions has a history of more than 30 years. The authors consider a new disturbance decoupling problem and also give new formulations of known results. The system they consider is the finite-dimensional discrete-time system \[ x(k+1) = A x(k) + B u(k) + E q(k), \quad y(k) = C x(k), \] where \(q\) is the disturbance, and the aim is to design a feedback \(u= Fx\) such that the disturbance has no influence on the output \(y\). This is the classical disturbance decoupling problem. The new problem considered in this paper is solving this decoupling problem under the assumption that \(q\) is known some time steps in advance. Furthermore, the authors study the problem with stability. They formulate the solution in term of subspace inclusions. The interesting fact is that the stability condition is the same for the classical disturbance decoupling problem and the \(k\)-steps known disturbance.
