One denotes by \(R\) a hyperbolic Riemann surface, \(T(R)\) the Teichmüller space of \(R\) (supposed infinite dimensional), \(\mu\) an extremal Beltrami coefficient on \(R\), and [\(\mu\)] a point in \(T(R)\). In this paper one gives a positive answer to the following problem: If [\(\mu\)] in \(T(R)\) admits more that one extremal Beltrami coefficient, can we say that there always exists an extremal Beltrami coefficient in [\(\mu\)] with non-constant modulus?
