In a way formally similar to the continuous case, the authors define in different but equivalent manner the difference between the discrete connection and curvature on a discrete vector bundle over a regular lattice as base space. The difference operators are considered as the discrete counterparts of the derivatives based upon the differential calculus on the lattice. One of the definitions can be extended to the case over a random lattice. Also the relation between their approach and the lattice gauge theory is discussed and it is applied to discrete integrable systems.
