The paper under review deals with different aspects of unconditional structure properties of the space \(U\) of uniformly convergent Fourier series on the circle and some of its subspaces. The space \(U^+\) of uniformly convergent Fourier series with positive spectrum naturally identifies with the space of Taylor series which are uniformly convergent on the unit disc. The paper begins with an introductory chapter which contains notation and some references. In Chapter 1, some new examples of translation invariant subspaces of \(C\) or \(U\) without local unconditional structure are given. In Chapter 2, the authors prove that neither \(U\) nor \(U^+\) do have the Gordon-Lewis property. The main result of Chapter 3 is that absolutely summing operators from \(U\) to a K-convex Banach space are compact. See for instance [\textit{G. Pisier}, ``Factorization of the linear operators and geometry of Banach spaces'', Reg. Conf. Ser. Math. 60, X (1986; Zbl 0588.46010)] for the terminology. As a consequence, \(U\) and \(U^+\) are not isomorphic. Finally, Chapter 4 provides some examples of subspaces of \(U\) without the Daugavet property. In particular, \(U\) and \(U^+\) do not have the Daugavet property.
