The authors deal with the boundary crisis in quasiperiodically forced two-dimensional dissipative maps using the Hénon map with \(C=0,1\) as a paradigm. For this example the boundary crisis is due to a homoclinic tangency of the stable and unstable manifolds of the invariant circle \(H_\beta\) on the basin boundary. The authors show that for certain forcing amplitudes the homoclinic tangency of the manifolds of the crisis circle does not induce a boundary crisis, but a basin boundary metamorphosis.
