Since \textit{C. Fefferman}'s seminal paper [Invent. Math. 26, 1-65 (1974; Zbl 0289.32012)], there has been considerable interest in getting precise information about the coefficients of the asymptotic expansion for the Bergman kernel function on the diagonal near the boundary of a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain. Ramadanov's conjecture asks if vanishing of the logarithmic term implies that the domain is biholomorphically equivalent to the ball. For the special case of strictly pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domains in \({\mathbb{C}}^ 2\), the conjecture was confirmed by \textit{D. Boichu} and \textit{G. Coeuré} [Invent. Math. 72, 131-152 (1983; Zbl 0489.32017)]. The present paper repairs what the author says is a gap in this work of Boichu and Coeuré, and, following similar ideas, gives for this special class of domains an explicit asymptotic expansion for the Bergman kernel in terms of a hodograph transform. The proof is only sketched, as the details are to appear elsewhere. Using different techniques, \textit{L. Boutet de Monvel} [Sémin. Équations Dériv. Partielles 1987-1988, Exp. No.22, 11 p. (1988; Zbl 0682.31002)] has resolved the Ramadanov conjecture for arbitrary strictly pseudoconvex domains (not necessarily Reinhardt) in dimension two.
