Vershik, Professor at St. Petersburg State University, is giving a personal account of political oppression of Jews and other minorities in academia of the Soviet Union. He complains of a ``conspiracy of silence'' on the part of the former party functionaries and regrets the lack of testimony on the part of political victims.
