An invariant control system on a homogeneous manifold \(M=G/H\) is given by a set \({\mathcal X}\) of G-invariant vector fields on M. Here M describes the states of the system and the dynamics is given by the integral curves of elements of \({\mathcal X}\). In case M is a group the set of states attainable from the identity is a subsemigroup. The authors list a number of problems that occur if one tries to describe the attainable set. In particular they address the question how much the way one allows to switch elements from \({\mathcal X}\) (e.g. measurable vs. piecewise constant) affects the semigroup.
