The authors employ index theory to show the existence of positive solutions for the singular Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem on a half-line, \[ \big(p(t)u'(t) \big)' + m(t)f(t,u)=0, \quad t \in (0,+\infty), \] \[ \alpha u(0) - \beta \lim_{t \to 0^+} p(t)u'(t) = 0, \] \[ \gamma u(+\infty) + \delta \lim_{t \to +\infty} p(t)u'(t) =0. \] In the third section of the paper they state six main results; two for the existence of at least one positive solution, two for the existence of at least two positive solutions and two for the existence of at least three positive solutions. They give two examples in the fourth section to demonstrate an application of their theorems.
