The author studies the differential operator \(D={d\over dx}\) on the set of all functions, which are analytic in a disk of radius larger than \(1\). It is shown that the iterations of \(D\) define a dynamical system, which satisfies the conditions for chaotic dynamics as stated in the paper by \textit{T.-Y. Li} and \textit{J. A. Yorke} [Period three implies chaos, Am. Math. Mon. 82, 985-992 (1975; Zbl 0351.92021)].
