This paper focuses on the issue of random infinite squarings of rectangles. Based on a construction that associates a squaring of a rectangle to a finite edge-rooted planar map with non-separating root edge, the authors propose a growing sequence of squarings of rectangles. They show that there exists an explicitly defined sequence \(S_n\) (\(n\geq1\)) of random squarings of rectangles with the following properties. (i) \(S_n=S(G_n)\), where \(G_n\) is an \((n+4)\)-edge random planar map following the growth law; (ii) \(S_n\) converges almost surely for the Hausdorff distance to a compact limit \(S_{\infty}\), which almost surely has exactly one point of accumulation; (iii) \(S_{\infty}\) has the law of \(S(G_{\infty})\), where \(G_{\infty}\) is the uniform infinite 3-connected planar map.
