The authors analyze a multiresolution analysis structure within the space of square-integrable functions over the \(d\)-dimensional Euclidean space, under the dilation generated by an expansive matrix. They, however, deal within a structure which has some specific properties; the structure has to be within a reducing subspace and the generating family is based on pseudoframes. They provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such a structure, and they analyze the corresponding expansions of functions. Within such a structure they provide the characterization of a pyramid decomposition scheme.
