One of the main results of this paper is the following Theorem 1.3: Let \(\phi \) be a Hamiltonian diffeomorphism of \(S^2\) with at least three fixed points such that \(Fix(\phi ^k)\) is finite for all \(k\in \mathbb{N}\). Then \(\phi \) has fixed points of arbitrarily large period. More precisely, either \(\phi \) has infinite many periodic points with arbitrarily large period and rational mean indices not equal to zero modulo four, or there exists a \(K\in \mathbb{N}\) such that \(\phi ^K\) has infinitely many periodic points with arbitrarily large periods in \(\mathbb{P}^2\), the set of natural numbers greater that one which have at most two prime factors when counted with multiplicity.
