The following system of differential equations \[ \dot{W}=CWD-WW^*CW,\quad W(0)=W_0 \] is considered, where \(W\) is a bounded operator in the \(p\)-Schatten class \(\mathcal{C}_p(\mathcal{H})\) and \(\mathcal{H}\) is a complex and separable Hilbert space. The operators \(C\) and \(D\) are in \(\mathcal{C}_p(\mathcal{H})\), and \(W^*\) represents the adjoint of \(W\). The authors derive local existence and uniqueness of solutions for the considered system by means of the Tychonoff fixed point theorem for Banach spaces and Peano-Picard's approximation technique. It is also shown that the subspace of all operators in \(\mathcal{C}_p(\mathcal{H})\) that commute with \(W\), is invariant under the flow. Moreover, the considered system is solved explicitly for a large class of initial conditions, representing, in addition, the maximal solution in terms of the spectral representation of \(W_0\). The authors study stability issues, the long-term behavior of solutions, characterizing both the \(\omega\)- and \(\alpha\)-limit sets of a given orbit. They also prove that all limit sets reduce to a single element.
