On numerical computation of singular integrals (Q794392)

We give a simple procedure for computing singular integrals without using any of the familiar methods (substitution, partial integration, subtraction of the singular part, etc.). In our method, at the expense of using a finer mesh, one will be able to use for example Simpson's formula slightly modified without resorting to the traditional reformulations. However, even if the singularity itself has been neutralized we must expect low accuracy in the vicinity of the singular point.
