The author considers a 3D incompressible viscous fluid with shear-dependent viscosity. He assumes that the stress tensor \(T\) is determined by the velocity field \(u\) and the pressure \(\pi\). He also assumes that the symmetric gradient \({\mathcal D}u\) and positive constants \(p,\mu >0\), \(T\) are related by \(T=-\pi I +(\mu +|{\mathcal D}u|)^{p-2}{\mathcal D}u\). This means to consider a system \[ -\nabla\cdot ((\mu +|{\mathcal D}u|)^{p-2}{\mathcal D}u) +\nabla\pi =f,\quad \nabla\cdot u=0 \] on a cubic domain \(\Omega\), with the non-slip condition on (a part of) the boundary of \(\Omega\). The author mainly considers the case \(p<2\) of thinning shear, and gives some regularity result (up to the boundary) of the solution in \(L^p\)-Sobolev spaces. He puts the emphasis on the estimate of the second order derivatives. He also gives a restricted regularity result for the case \(p>2\).
