    The authors deal with the elliptic equations with a nonlinearity concave at the origin, that is \[ \begin{aligned} -\Delta u= -\lambda|u|^{q- 2} u+ au+ g(u)\quad &\text{in }\Omega,\tag{1}\\ u= 0\quad &\text{on }\partial\Omega,\tag{2}\end{aligned} \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^d\) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(a\in\mathbb R\), \(\lambda> 0\), \(1< q< 2\) and \(g: \mathbb R\to \mathbb R\) is a function of class \(C^1\). The authors establish the existence of multiple solutions for (1)--(2). To this end the authors use the variational method.
