Boundary value problems in several complex variables are more exciting for poly-domains than for e.g. balls. The reason is that for poly-domains the distinguished boundary is multiply connected and hence index phenomena occur. In a recent paper [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 326, 533--555 (2007; Zbl 1110.32002)] the author has solved the Riemann jump problem for analytic functions in the case of the \(n\)-dimensional poly-circle. This problem was before not treated in an efficient way. The main idea is to decompose the complement of the poly-disc in a proper way by introducing some pairings of \(n\)-dimensional domains with the torus as distinguished boundary. There are all together \(2^n\) pairings of such sub-domains. Related to this is the decomposition of the Fourier series of functions from the Wiener algebra on the unit poly-circle and a proper formulation of the Cauchy kernels for the sub-domains. These concepts are used in the present paper to formulate the Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem in a proper way for the higher-dimensional case. The solvability is discussed, solvability conditions if desirable and the solutions are given explicitly. As in the classical one-dimensional case the relation between the Riemann and the Riemann-Hilbert problems are illuminated.
