In the first part, the paper describes three tangency concepts whose definitions are based on a nonempty family \(\mathcal{S}\) of nonempty sets \(S\subseteq (0, +\infty)\). Next, for a multifunction \(F:X\to Y\) between two topological vector spaces (particularly, normed spaces) \(X,Y\), conditions under which \(F\) is uniformly linearly open or uniformly nearly linearly open are formulated through a metric property, called \(\omega\)-openness. Locally closed graph results concerning \(\omega\)-openness are obtained in general metric spaces as well as in particular metric spaces which resemble normed spaces.
