The paper uses variational arguments and concavity method to discuss existence and instability of standing wave as well as sharp threshold of global existence and blowup for the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov (KGZ) system with different degree nonlinearities in two and three space dimensions. The authors address the question of how small the Cauchy data are for the solution of the Cauchy problem to exist. Finally, a modified instability of standing wave for the KGZ system is established.
