A connection between a matrix function consimilar to the identity and its adjoint is established. The concept of antisymmetric factorization is introduced and it is shown that it exists whenever a standard factorization exists. Namely, it is proved that a matrix function consimilar to the identity admits a factorization in \(L_p\) if and only if admits an antysimmetric factorization in \(L_p\). With some additional conditions, this implies that the problem of determining the partial indices of a factorization for a matrix function from the class of all matrix functions in \(L_\infty^{2\times2}\) which are consimilar to the identity can be reduced to the problem of determining the conspectrum of such a matrix function. The relation between matrix functions consimilar to the identity and some sets of singular integral operators with conjugation and the factorization problem for singular integral operators with conjugation is described. The results are generalized to matrix functions consimilar to the identity of arbitrary order.
