    The author formulates and solves the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear Boltzmann equation in full space within the framework of nonstandard analysis. The initial data have arbitrary size with finite mass, energy and entropy. The limit of vanishing mean free path is studied. The existing standard result for the spatially homogeneous case is obtained as a corollary.
