Given a convex polyhydral surface in 3-space, a sequence of polyhydra is constructed in the spirit of Sabin's method, which converges to a \(C^ 1\)-surface. In each step, the number of faces is increased, each edge gives rise to two additional faces in the next step. The resulting polyhydra are so regular that the authors call their method a honeycomb method. To make the reader familiar with the ideas, in a preliminary section a two dimensional analogon is described. Moreover, the algorithm is illustrated by many figures and pictures. [On the other hand, the honeycomb method is not applied to the last three pictures for obvious reasons].
