The authors study a manifold with torsion free connection which have one of the exotic holonomy groups \(H_3, G_3, G_{1,3}, H_{1,3}\), discovered by R. Bryant. Here, \(G_3\) (respectively, \(H_3\)) is the irreducible representation of \(GL_2(\mathbb{C}) \) (respectively, \(SL_2(\mathbb{C})\)) in the space \(\mathbb{C} [x,y]_3\) of polynomials of degree three and \(G_{1,2}\) (respectively, \(H_{1,2}\)) is the irreducible representation of \(GL_2(\mathbb C) \times SL_2(\mathbb C)\) (respectively, \(SL_2(\mathbb{C}) \times SL_2(\mathbb{C}) \)) in the space \(\mathbb{C}[x,y]_1 \otimes \mathbb{C}[u,v]_2 \approx \mathbb{C}^2 \otimes\mathbb{C}^3\). According to R. Bryant, a manifold with a torsion free \(G_3\) connection can be locally obtained by the following construction: Let \(W\) be a complex contact 3-fold and \(C\) is a rational contact curve in \(W\) with the normal bundle \(\mathcal{O}(2)\oplus \mathcal{O}(2)\). Then the moduli space \(Y\) of contact curves near \(C\) carries a torsionfree \(G_3\) connection. Moreover, the moduli space \(Z\) of all rational curves near \(C\) has the canonical \(G_{1,2}\)-structure. The authors prove that this structure is torsion free only if the \(G_3\) connection in \(Y\) is flat and describe its torsion as a section of some rank 4 subbundle \(T \subset \wedge^2 T^*Z \otimes TZ\). A 6-manifold \(Z\) with \(G_{1,2} \) connection with torsion in \(T\) can be realized as a moduli space of rational curves in some 5-fold \(P\) , which are integral curves of a rank 2 distribution in \(P\). An other result is that a torsion free \(G_{1,2}\) connection has holonomy group \(\text{Hol} \subset H_{1,2}\). A regular (in some sense) torsion free connection with holonomy \(H_{1,2}\) exists, depends on 3 parameters and has an abelian 2-dimensional group of automorphisms. The authors prove also that any regular \(H_3\) connection on a 4-fold \(Y\) is the restriction of a regular \(G_{1,2}\) connection of a 6-fold \(Z\) under some imbedding \(Y \rightarrow Z\). In this case the connection in \(Z\) is uniquely determined by its restriction to \(Y\).
