Let \(A\) be a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra over a field. \(A\) is said to have property (Fr) if every right or left coideal subalgebra \(B\) is Frobenius. This is equivalent to \(A\) being free as left or right \(B\)- module, and to \(A\) being right or left \(B\)-cleft, i.e., there is an invertible right or left \(B\)-module map from \(A\) to \(B\). It is not known if every finite-dimensional Hopf algebra \(A\) has property (Fr). In this paper, the author considers short exact sequences of finite-dimensional Hopf algebras \(1 \to K \to A \to H \to 1\) with \(K\) having property (Fr). He shows that \(A\) has property (Fr) if either \(H\) is irreducible, \(H\) is cocommutative, or \(H\) is cosemisimple and has property (Fr).
