The characteristic formulation of general relativity chooses a coordinate system adapted to the propagation of light rays to or from some timelike (or null) geodesic (or a worldtube). As resulting metric is taken the Bondi-Sachs form. The Einstein's equations have special expressions in this case. The author gives a numerical implementation of such field equations. The applications to the problem of scattering off a black hole, to modeling moving black holes and collision of holes are considered.
