    Let A denote the class of functions \(f(z)=z+\sum^{\infty}_{k=2}a_ kz^ k\) analytic in the unit disc E and \(\delta\geq 0\). \textit{St. Ruscheweyh} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 81, 521-527 (1981; Zbl 0458.30008)] defined \[ N_{\delta}(f)=\{g\in A| \quad g(z)=z+\sum^{\infty}_{k=2}b_ kz^ k\quad and\quad \sum^{\infty}_{k=2}k| a_ k-b_ k| \leq \delta \}. \] The author considers the classes \[ (C)_ t=\{f\in A| \quad | zf''(z)/f'(z)+1-t| <t,\quad z\in E\},\quad t>1/2, \] \[ (S^*)_ t=\{f\in A| \quad | zf'(z)/f(z)-t| <t,\quad z\in E\},\quad t>1/2, \] which are subclasses of the class of convex resp. starlike functions. In this article two types of results are proved: an example of the first type which generalizes a theorem of Ruscheweyh (loc. cit.) is the following: Let \(t\geq 1\) and \[ f(z)=z+\sum^{\infty}_{k=n+1}a_ kz^ k\in (C)_ t \] then \(N_{\delta_ n}(f)\subset (S^*)_ t\) if \(\delta_ n=(2-1/t)^{-(1/n)(2-1/t)/(1-1/t)}\). This value of \(\delta_ n\) is the best possible. Results of the second type look like the following one: Let \(t,f\in (C)_ t\), \(\delta_ n\) be as above and \(g\in N_{\delta_ n}(f)\) then \((1/x)g(xz)\in (C)_ t\) where x is the unique root in (0,1) of the equation \[ (1-x^ n)(1-w_ tx^ n)^{-1+(1-w_ t)/nw_ t},w_ t=(1/t)-1. \]
