Assuming a one-to-one correspondence between the stress and strain increments, a class of plastic constitutive equations with vertex effect and satisfying mathematical restrictions about tensor functions, is proposed. The theory is extended to include the initial and subsequent general anisotropy of the material. Using the natural time-measure, the time-dependent inelastic (creep/viscoelasticity) constitutive equations are derived. The use of both, the natural and internal time-dependent measures, is made to formulate the constitutive equations for viscoplasticity. Special forms of the constitutive equations for time- independent and time-dependent cases are also presented.
