On the solutions of Halphen's equation (Q1848324)

Using a theorem of Picard, the author expresses the solutions to Halphen's equation in terms of elliptic functions of the second kind. He briefly discusses the well-known process of the reduction of the order of a differential equation when one solution is known and applies it to Halphen's equation. He also illustrates his discussion by means of some interesting examples.
